My Story

I started my photographic journey when I was just 15 years old during the 2020 covid lockdown, little did I know that starting this hobby would change my life for the better.

For me, photography has always been an outlet to raise awareness of social and personal issues.

By taking  NCEA levels 1- 3 photography classes I was able to build my knowledge of how to do so. In my level 2 NCEA photography external I create a self-portrait series demonstrating the mental health that transgender face on a daily basis. This theme idea slowly became widely known, allowing me to be nominated for the 2021 Spark Te Rakahinonga Auaha Creative Entrepreneur Prime Minister's Award, which I gratefully won. Winning this award lead me to pursue this passion for advocacy further, allowing me to create my photography business O.L.S Photography.

Through my photographic work, I plan to continue raising awareness on important issues, not only for the rainbow community but for all New Zealanders. If you take a glance at my portfolio you will see that I specialise in all sorts of photography; Landscapes, Architectural, animals and food. However I mainly prefer to do portrait photography, I love capturing life-changing memories for others to look back on.
